About RS United

One Movement, United

RS United is a lay-led, volunteer movement of believers from churches of every tradition — individuals, city chapters, and ministry partners standing together to reject evil and follow Jesus Christ.

Our story

The movement began in Memphis, Tennessee, with a simple conviction: believers from every church in a city can stand together against evil and put their faith to work for their neighbors.

Memphis became the first chapter. As people in other cities asked how to bring it home, RS United was formed to hold the whole movement together — so every new city, church, and partner has a place to connect.

Lay-led. Volunteer-run. Owned by no one.

RS United is a movement of the laity — ordinary believers in the pews, not pastors or deacons. Clergy are welcome to encourage and bless it, but it is carried by Christians living out their faith at home, at work, and in their cities.

It is not a nonprofit or a business, and no one holds the naming rights. It is a volunteer network, and the body of Christ takes ownership of it.

Common ground

We welcome Christians of every tradition who confess Jesus Christ as Lord, as well as anyone still seeking Him. We stand on what Scripture calls every believer to do:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

James 4:7, NRSVue

We reject

  • Lies and deception
  • Cruelty and violence
  • Hatred and division
  • Exploiting the vulnerable

We choose

  • Truth
  • Mercy
  • Reconciliation
  • Protecting children and families

Where the name comes from

From the early centuries of the Church, Christians preparing for baptism have been asked to renounce Satan and turn to Christ. We borrow those words because they say plainly what every follower of Jesus is called to do.

This is not a new church, a denomination, or a nonprofit. It is a volunteer network that no one person owns — the body of Christ carries it, city by city, to encourage individuals, strengthen families, and put lived faith to work in our neighborhoods.
